Surgery with MP Alistair Carmichael
Orkney's MP, Alistair Carmichael, will be holding a Surgery on
Friday 2nd April,
11.00 - 11.15am, at Rousay Community School.
He will also be at Egilsay Community School, 2.45 - 3.30pm.
Womens' Activity Group
Rousay's WAGs are holding a Keep Fit event on
Friday 9th April, at 8pm, at the School.
All ladies welcome.
Church Services
Church Services will be held at the Church Centre,
at 11.30am, throughout April, as follows:

Triangle Club
The weekly Triangle Club,
held at the Church Centre, takes place every Wednesday, from 10am.
The Chiropodist visits on 7th April.
To help prepare members of the club for Digital TV,
a presentation by DigitalUK will be given on 14th April.
Céilidh
With the Orkney Céilidh Weekend 2010 nearly here, Rousay is hosting a fringe event at
the Rousay Community Hall, on Wednesday 7th April,
7pm - 11.30pm.
Come along for the buffet and dance, with music by 'Jim Brown and Friends',
by purchasing tickets at Orcadian Crafts (up until Friday 2 April).
Your ticket will secure your place on the ferry, which departs Rousay at midnight.
A bus returns to Kirkwall from Tingwall at 12.30am.

Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Egg Hunt, in aid of the RNLI, to be held on Sunday 4th April, at
3pm, at The Pier.
Teas and Cakes to be served, with a Raffle to follow.
Easter Bonnet and Easter Card Competitions.

Citizens Advice Bureau
The Citizens Advice Bureau is visiting Rousay on
Wednesday 28th April, 1.30pm - 4pm, at the Church Centre.
Drop in for FREE, confidential, impartial and independent advice.
Parent Council
The next Parent Council meeting will be held on Friday 16th April,
at 2.15pm, at the School. All parents are encouraged to attend.
Rousay Gun Club
The Gun Club is rapidly progressing through its 2010 League, with shoots
on Sunday 4th April, at 1pm and at Quoy Grinnie on
Sunday 18th April, at 2pm.
Badminton
Badminton is every Wednesday (7 - 9pm) and
Sunday (4 - 6pm), at the School,
unless otherwise stated on the calendar.

Slim for Spring is held every Monday at 7pm, at the
Pier Restuarant.
Come along for encouragement, progress and ideas.
Rousay Community Association EGM
The Rousay Community Association is holding an Extraordinary General Meeting on Monday
26th April, at 8pm in the Community Rooms at Rousay Primary
School. During the meeting, Key Holders and Community Group Representatives will receive
Induction Training. In addition, the meeting will see a Review of the Constitution; Grant
Allocation and Charging Policies; and a Review of the Community Association facilities at
the School.
The Annual General Meeting held last month, March, saw Alistair Munro continue in his role
as Chair; and John Garson step up to the position of Vice-Chair, with Wendy Baulch taking
over as Treasurer. Michelle Koster was elected as the new Secretary.
Rousay, Egilsay, Wyre and Gairsay Community Council Meeting
The next meeting of the Community Council will be
on Tuesday 27th April, at 7.15pm, at the School.
Members of the community are encouraged to attend and watch proceedings.
Spinning Group
Spinning Group is held every Tuesday at the School, 2-4pm.
Why not come along and learn a traditional craft, or practice your skills?
Quiz Night
The Taversoe Hotel holds its monthly general knowledge quiz night on
the first Tuesday of each month, starting at 8pm.
Free entry and snowball jackpot.
This month's quiz will be on Tuesday 6th April, with a Mexican Supper.
SWRI
The next SWRI meeting is held on
Tuesday 13th April, at 8pm, at the School.
The theme for the night will be 'Fish, Chutney and Jam',
with Billy Jolly the Guest Speaker.
Tea, Coffee and Biscuits to follow.

Members are also asked to bring along any plants, seedlings or
cuttings that they would like to sell, in order to raise funds for the SWRI.
Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre Devlopment Trust AGM
The Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre Development Trust holds its Annual General Meeting on
Saturday 24th April, at 10.15am, in the Community Rooms at
Rousay Community School.
Any member standing for election/re-election as a Director of the Development Trust, must
submit this in writing to Company Secretary, Anne Grieve (Furse, Rousay) by Friday 16 April.
Jewish Music and Traditions
There will be a short performance of Jewish Music and Traditions by Primary 5-7 pupils,
following their work with Mr Miller. Everyone is invited to attend, at 2.15pm, at the
School, on Wednesday 28th April.
Library
The Orkney Mobile Library next visits Rousay,
Egilsay and Wyre on Thursday 15th April.
